Event Details
Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2359 is proud to announce the VFW 2026 Day of Service to be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the historic Holten Cemetery. From 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, Post members and community volunteers will gather to honor those who served by cleaning veteran gravesites and assessing the overall state of repair within the cemetery grounds.
This initiative is part of the VFW’s ongoing commitment to stewardship and ensuring that the final resting places of our nation’s heroes are maintained with the dignity and respect they deserve. Volunteers will assist in removing debris, light cleaning of headstones using approved methods (soap and water only), and documenting markers that may require professional restoration or repair.
Maintaining the legacy of our veterans starts right here in our own backyard. This Day of Service is not just about maintenance; it’s about the community coming together to show that we have not forgotten the sacrifices made by those buried at Holten Cemetery.
