About the book:
In the summer of 1755, fourteen-year-old Joseph Warren left his family’s farm in Roxbury, Massachusetts, and walked into destiny when he entered Harvard College. Brilliant, compassionate, and driven by an unshakable belief in liberty, he would become one of the most influential—and tragically overlooked—figures of the American Revolution.
A respected Boston physician, Warren healed the sick by day and challenged the British Empire by night. As a leader of the Sons of Liberty and the radical resistance to English rule, he stood at the center of a growing storm. He authored the Suffolk Resolves, a bold declaration that proclaimed colonial defiance and laid the philosophical groundwork for the Declaration of Independence. When the First Continental Congress adopted the Resolves as its first official act, Warren’s words became the voice of a nation not yet born.
On the night of April 18, 1775, with British troops preparing to march on Lexington and Concord to seize rebel arms, a decision had to be made—one normally entrusted to a full committee. They were absent. The responsibility fell to Warren alone. In a moment that would change the world, he dispatched Paul Revere and William Dawes on their legendary rides, setting in motion the events that ignited the American Revolutionary War.
From his leadership as President of the Massachusetts Provincial Congress and the Committee of Safety, to his role as Grand Master of the Massachusetts Grand Lodge of Masons, Warren believed passionately that all people were entitled to medical care, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. He lived for those ideals. He died for them on the battlefield of Bunker Hill, becoming one of the Revolution’s earliest and most noble martyrs.
About Salina:
Salina is a multiple award-winning historical fiction author, presenter, and historian of the American Revolution. She has done presentations at places such as History Camp Boston, Valley Forge, Washington Crossing Historic Park, the General Nathanael Greene Homestead, Cowpens National Battlefield, Camden Revolutionary War Visitor Center, and Sons of the American Revolution/Daughters of the American Revolution chapters. She has also been interviewed on podcasts including Revolution 250, American Revolution Podcast, and Emerging Revolutionary War. In addition, she writes articles for the Journal of the American Revolution. Salina lives in Austin, Texas with her loving husband, John.

Run by twin sisters Lily and Hannah Barrett, Read My Lips Boston is a pop-up diverse romance bookshop based in the Boston area. Read My Lips partners with breweries and cafes to host mobile shops with love stories starring those identifying as BIPOC, disabled, queer, big-bodied, and members of other groups historically underrepresented in the romance genre.
To Lily and Hannah, elevating their community is paramount; The shop gives 10% of its proceeds to area nonprofits. Read My Lips' mission addresses a gap the sisters felt growing up. Born deaf, they received cochlear implants as toddlers. Their parents read to them, teaching them speech and fostering a love of reading. Growing up, Lily and Hannah loved romance novels but struggled to find characters they could relate to. They started Read My Lips because they believe everyone deserves to be seen as the hero — not typecast as a villain or sidekick based on white, cis, hetero, straight-bodied and abled standards.

At just 18, Bella Rayne is a self-taught guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter whose sound is quickly turning heads across the country. Born in the mountains of North Carolina and raised along the rugged coast of Mendocino, California, she blends rock and Americana with the improvisational spirit of the jam-band tradition—creating a sound that feels both timeless and strikingly new, bridging generations of listeners. Her journey began during the pandemic, when she pulled an old Stratocaster from her garage, fixed it up, and taught herself to play by ear—unlocking a voice and style entirely her own. She has since formed Bella Rayne Band, a high-energy, guitar-driven ensemble that has quickly become one of the most talked-about rising acts on the live circuit. Led by a young lineup of seasoned musicians, the band has surged from small rooms to coast-to-coast stages and festival lineups in a remarkably short time, with crowds growing at every stop. Their sets are explosive and ever- evolving—blending soulful Southern rock, modern Americana, and improvisational jam with bold reinterpretations of Grateful Dead classics alongside Bella’s own originals. The result is a sound that feels both timeless and unmistakably new, often described as the next generation of Tedeschi Trucks Band with an alternative edge and a 70s vibe. With demand building nationwide, the band recently completed recording singles for an upcoming EP slated for release in 2026—marking the next step in a trajectory that shows no signs of slowing down. Despite her young age, Bella has already shared the stage with seasoned artists and respected bands: appearances alongside Allman Betts Family Revival, Melvin Seals &amp; JGB, ALO, Jackie Greene, Oteil Burbridge, and members of Terrapin Family have all added to her early résumé and she was touted as “one to watch” by her idol, Susan Tedeschi in a 2025 Guitar World Magazine interview. In addition, she has been invited to iconic stages nationwide including The Fillmore SF, The Orpheum LA, Sweetwater Music Hall, The Hamilton, and even celebrated her 18th birthday with a set on the Prudential stage at Bottlerock Napa festival. One of the most iconic moments of her rising career: she was entrusted to play the legendary guitar known as “Alligator” — once wielded by Jerry Garcia. That honor, courtesy of Grateful Guitars Foundation, has become a defining chapter in Bella’s journey and Guitar Player magazine recently recognized her as one of the players “keeping the Dead alive” alongside Jeff Mason (Dark Star Orchestra) and Tom Hamilton (JRAD) in an article from May 2025.

The Meadow at Peabody

Vets Helping Vets (VHV) raises funds to provide scholarships for veterans, as well as the children, grandchildren, and Gold Star Families of local military veterans from all branches of service.
Last year, VHV awarded $9,500 in college scholarships. Funding for these scholarships comes primarily from our 3rd annual Golf Tournament, which will be held on August 31, 2026, in Peabody. We are also grateful for the generous donations and contributions from individuals and the business community that help make our scholarship program a success.
