For Immediate Release
Peabody Institute Library in Danvers is excited to partner with PAWSitive Pantry, a nonprofit that provides pet food to food pantries in MA and VT! PAWSitive Pantry provides about 8100 cat meals and 4500 dog meals a month to people in need. They do this to keep people and pets together and reduce animal surrenders to already-overcrowded animal shelters. They know that when people face difficult financial circumstances, giving up the family pet is an unthinkable decision as pets are family members.
Peabody Institute Library is excited to offer a pet food donation bin that patrons and community members can use to donate any brand of cat or dog food, dry or wet, and kitty litter. The donation bin will be in place from November 16-December 22, 2026. The raised pet food and kitty litter will benefit Danvers' People to People food pantry, one of PAWSitive Pantry's local partners. This will be the second time the library has done a pet food drive with Pawsitive Pantry. The first pet food drive was very enthusiastically received by patrons.
PAWSitive Pantry is a 501c3 nonprofit, EIN # 27-0297464.
