Cashman Taking Danvers Baseball By Storm
This week's Whiz Kid is an eighth grader who excels at baseball and academics.
Courtney Cashman is one to watch; she is single-handedly taking Danvers baseball by storm. Most recently, in her playoffs with the Red Sox, she belted a 250 foot grand slam over the fence, won the Homerun Derby for her age group for the third time in four years, and was invited to play on the Williamsport Baseball Team.
Cashman is not only the only girl on the team, she is a starter playing first base, third base and pitcher.
In just the first game Courtney had three hits and five RBI’s.

"Courtney is a natural at whatever sport she is playing and all her coaches enjoy having her on their team," said her mother Jeannie Cashman.
Courney excels off the field as well. A very motivated student, she received High Honors in the eighth grade all three semesters.
