Thin Blue Ride is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide support to active military personnel and first responders facing cancer. Through fundraising, awareness and community involvement, the organization works to help alleviate some of the burdens faced by these individuals and their families during their cancer journeys.
The organization has particularly meaningful roots in both law enforcement and the fight against cancer. Co-founder Jonathan “JD” Daige is an Army veteran and police officer who battled cancer himself. Thin Blue Ride grew from his experience, including participation in the Pan-Mass Challenge, and his desire to pay forward the support he received during his own fight.
“For us, Lights, Sirens & Smiles is about so much more than having a fun family day,” said Stephanie Chiulli-Guillemette, founder of SadieLadySecrets.com and author of the Sadie Lady children’s book series. “It is about giving children an opportunity to meet and appreciate some of the incredible people who serve our communities while showing them what can happen when people come together to help others. We can have fun, create memories and make a difference at the same time.”
The first-responder theme also connects closely with the Sadie Lady children’s book series, including stories that introduce young readers to firefighters, police officers, safety, courage, service and helping others.
Through its books, family events, charitable initiatives and community partnerships, SadieLadySecrets.com continues its mission of “Inspiring Families One Adventure at a Time.”

Glass Shower Doors in Winchester, MA

Once the picnic blankets clear out of Mystic Lakes State Park for the season, the indoor project list comes back out, and the bathroom usually sits near the top. The shower curtain has had a long run. So has the framed slider a previous owner left behind, the one that sticks every third morning. Plenty of houses around Winchester Center went up long before anyone pictured a wall of glass in the bathroom, and it shows: walls drift out of plumb, a ceiling slopes under a dormer, a floor sits a hair off level. So glass shower doors in Winchester get measured in the room itself, never pulled off a shelf, and the frameless shower door team at IDEAL Shower Doors custom builds each enclosure to those exact numbers. The glass follows the room. Much better than the other way around.

Hinged Frameless Shower Doors for Winchester Colonials and Victorians

Got room for a door to swing? Then a hinged frameless door is usually the simplest route. It opens like every other door in the house, and there's no bottom track quietly collecting soap and hair. With less hardware to mount, the install tends to go quicker, and it tends to cost less, too. IDEAL Shower Doors offers them as a single door, a door and panel, a 90 degree corner, or a neo angle for the corner shower tucked under the eaves. The real question is clearance. Stand in the doorway and picture the glass swinging open. Does it clip the vanity? The toilet? That towel bar you forgot about? If it does, a frameless slider is worth a look instead.

Frosted and Rain Glass for Shower Privacy

Older homes love a certain layout: the shower right under a window, or straight across from a door that opens onto the upstairs hall. Clear glass shows off tile beautifully and hides absolutely nothing. Frosted glass is the privacy answer. It's acid etched, so light comes through and the view doesn't, and it's available in 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch. Rain glass carries a vertical pattern that breaks up what's behind it while still letting daylight in. Honestly, the pick often comes down to sightlines more than taste, so it helps to walk the shower glass specialists serving Winchester through where the window and doorway sit. Seeing the glass in person settles it faster than a photo ever will.

Schedule a Glass Shower Door Measurement Before the Holidays

Timing is where people get caught out. Quotes come back within 48 hours. Design typically takes one to two weeks, and once it's finalized, installation follows in two to four weeks, depending on the job. Count backward from Thanksgiving and the math says call now. If you'd rather see glass and hardware in person before deciding, the showroom at 9 Riverside Ave in Danvers is worth the drive from Winchester. Glass Shower Doors in Winchester, MA: Fitting Clear Glass to the Town's Older Bathrooms

Frameless Shower Door Hardware Built for Danvers, MA Bathrooms

Every bathroom renovation has an order of operations, and hardware sits at the bottom of it. Tile gets three weeks of deliberation. The hinges get about ninety seconds on the final phone call. Which is backward, because the glass mostly just hangs there while the hardware does the actual work. At IDEAL Shower Doors in Danvers, every enclosure gets C.R. Laurence components made in California, built from solid brass and then plated to whichever finish you picked, so the metal carrying the load is identical whether the outside reads chrome or brushed nickel. That matters more in a shower than almost anywhere else in a house. Warm humidity is not an occasional event in there, it is the standing condition. The range runs deeper than people expect, too: wall mounted hinges that swing both in and out, glass to glass hinges in 90 and 180 degree configurations, two piece clips that pin a fixed panel to a wall, floor, curb or ceiling, and sleeve over clamps for the spot where two sheets of glass meet at a right angle.

Choosing Shower Door Handles That Match Your Fixtures

Five handle styles, and they are not variations on one idea. The Mitered Pull is the standard option built into the pricing, six inches of 3/4 inch round tubing that disappears politely into almost any bathroom. The Ladder Pull stands ten inches over that same six inch hole pattern and reads modern from across the room. The Tubular C-Pull sits neutral between the two, same 3/4 inch tubing, softer profile. The Square Pull brings the clean lines and sharp corners that square bathroom decor asks for. And the Victorian, solid and ornate, is the one that stops looking like a costume the moment you set it in an older North Shore house. Chrome, brushed nickel and matte black are all on the board. So the real question was never which handle is best. It is which fixtures are already standing in the room, and that conversation goes a lot faster in front of the shower door specialists on Riverside Ave than it does in a browser tab.

Protected Glass That Keeps a Frameless Shower Door Clear

The other half of the finish conversation is the glass itself. Mineral deposits and soap buildup are what turn a bright new enclosure cloudy, and most of what gets sold to fight them is a spray or a film applied after the glass is already made, which means reapplying it every couple of months, forever. ShowerGuard by Guardian works differently. The protective coating goes on during manufacturing and stays permanently in the glass, with no effect on clarity and nothing to redo later. Upkeep drops to a squeegee after showers, plus a soft cloth or wet sponge and most common household cleaners. What it will not tolerate is the aggressive stuff, so abrasives like Ajax, Comet and cerium oxide stay under the sink, and anything carrying hydrofluoric or phosphoric acid should not be in the bathroom at all. Worth knowing before the quote. IDEAL Shower Doors is a registered Guardian dealer, and protected glass is a decision made at the design stage, since it cannot be added to a pane that has already been fabricated.

See Shower Door Hardware Finishes at the Danvers Showroom

Metal finishes are terrible at surviving a screen. Brushed nickel and chrome look nearly identical in a product photo and nothing alike under actual bathroom lighting, and matte black either anchors a room or swallows it depending entirely on what surrounds it. That is the argument for going to look. The showroom at 9 Riverside Ave keeps full size doors, glass options and hardware finishes out where you can see and handle them instead of judging from a sample card, which is a short trip for anyone in Danvers or coming over from Peabody, Salem or Beverly. IDEAL Shower Doors on Riverside Ave in Danvers books design appointments at meet.idealshowerdoors.com or by phone at 978-777-9900, so schedule the consultation before the tile goes in and the frameless shower door hardware turns into the thing you decide last.

The Shower Door Detail Danvers Homeowners Decide Last and Notice Every Day

Reading fundraiser will remember those lost on September 11, honor first responders past and present, and support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation

READING, MA — September 2026 — SadieLadySecrets.com and best-selling children’s author Stephanie Chiulli-Guillemette will host “Burgers for Benefits – United We Grill: Remembering 9/11’s Finest” on Wednesday, September 9, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Fuddruckers inside Jordan’s Furniture in Reading.
Held in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the family-friendly fundraiser will bring the community together to remember those who lost their lives, honor the first responders who courageously answered the call, recognize those who continue to serve today, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Remembering 9/11 and Honoring Our First Responders

For Stephanie and her husband and illustrator, Justin Guillemette, the anniversary also carries a deeply personal meaning.
“The 25th anniversary of September 11th is deeply personal to our family,” Chiulli-Guillemette said. “We lost someone very special to us that day, and seeing their name at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City is an emotion that is difficult to put into words. Twenty-five years may have passed, but time does not erase the people we lost, the memories we hold onto, or the impact they left behind. That is why the words ‘Never Forget’ mean so much to us.”
At the heart of United We Grill is a commitment to honoring the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics and other emergency personnel whose courage and sacrifice became defining symbols of September 11. Many made the ultimate sacrifice, while countless others participated in the rescue and recovery efforts that followed.
The event will also recognize the first responders who continue to serve today — the men and women who put on their uniforms every day, answer the call during emergencies, protect their communities and help others during some of life's most difficult moments.
By bringing families together, SadieLadySecrets.com hopes to provide an opportunity to say thank you while helping children understand the courage, compassion, dedication and sacrifice behind the uniform.

Supporting Tunnel to Towers

The evening will benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, established in memory of FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller, who gave his life while helping others on September 11, 2001.
Today, the foundation continues his legacy by supporting America’s first responders, Gold Star families, military service members, veterans and their families.
“Supporting Tunnel to Towers allows us to turn the words ‘Never Forget’ into action,” Chiulli-Guillemette said. “We can remember the heroes we lost while also standing behind the first responders, military heroes and families who continue to sacrifice for all of us.”

Teaching the Next Generation

The fundraiser will also feature two children’s books written by Stephanie and illustrated by Justin that help introduce young readers to first responders.
“Sadie Lady Takes a Trip to the Police Station” teaches children about police officers, safety, courage, community and helping others, while “Sadie Lady Takes a Trip to the Fire Station” introduces children to firefighters, fire safety and emergency preparedness.
Through Sadie Lady’s adventures, the couple hopes children will understand that behind every uniform, badge and emergency vehicle are real people who have dedicated themselves to helping and protecting others.

Burgers, Books & Giving Back

Families can enjoy dinner along with face painting, Sadie Lady books, DIY kits, merchandise and family fun throughout the evening.
Guests who present the event flyer when ordering will help support the fundraiser, with Fuddruckers donating 20% of qualifying meal purchases associated with the event. In addition, 20% of proceeds from the SadieLadySecrets.com event will benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
“Twenty-five years later, we want to make sure the next generation understands why we continue to say Never Forget,” Chiulli-Guillemette said. “We remember those we lost, honor those who answered the call, thank those who continue to serve, and give back to the heroes and families who have sacrificed so much.”
