Connect with Indie Authors, Publishers and Vendors at IPNE's 6th Annual New England Publishing Conference

Make connections with authors and book industry professionals while focusing on the process and business of book publishing

Do you have a book in you? Just hatched one? Want to connect with authors and publishers? Come to the 6th Annual New England Publishing Conference on October 21-22 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Organized by the Independent Publishers of New England (IPNE), this is a dynamic, productive event for indie authors and small and mid-sized publishers and vendors to the industry.

IPNE is a nonprofit organization providing education, networking, and cooperative sales opportunities for independent publishers and authors. The October conference is the only regional event of its kind in New England that focuses on the process of business and publishing. This year’s conference theme is “Collaboration Is the New Competition.” IPNE members pay it forward and collaborate to float everyone’s boat.

Legendary Boston independent publisher David R. Godine keynotes on Friday, October 21, after the IPNE’s Annual Book Awards ceremony, and Tim Brookes and Maung Nyeu of the Endangered Alphabets Project and Champlain Publishing Initiative will deliver the afternoon keynote. IPNE is affiliated with the Independent Book Publishers Association, whose CEO, Angela Bole, will deliver the keynote on Saturday, October 22. The conference includes workshops on panels on all the nuts and bolts of getting a book out of your head and into print or electronic format in a manner indistinguishable from those of the largest publishers. Topics include business, diversity, editing, production, publicity, bookselling, and trends. Kate Victory Hannisian of Blue Pencil Consulting of Danvers, MA, will speak as part of a panel presentation on book editing. The conference wraps up on Saturday afternoon with the popular “Ask the Experts” Q&A session with all available speakers.
