Couple Charged With Stealing Thousands From Elderly Father
A Danvers woman and her husband are charged with throwing out her father's items and stealing over $5,000 from him.

DANVERS, MA — A Danvers woman and her husband stole thousands of dollars from her elderly father and threw away several of his personal items, police said.
Nancy Hardin, 61, was arraigned Tuesday. She was charged with seven counts each of larceny by check, uttering a false check, forgery and wanton destruction of property over $250, according to the Salem News. Her husband, Thomas Hardin, 53, was arranged Monday on seven counts of wanton destruction of property over $250. Both were ordered to stay away from her father.
Court records say that Nancy allegedly stole $5,600 from her father and threw away his furniture and personal items, including war memorabilia. The father was in a nursing home while this was happening.

The victim told police that he allowed the couple to live with him in 2013 to help assist him with an injury. While he was in a nursing home, the two allegedly threw out $4,800 worth of items and stole $5,600 in cash.
The two are due back in court on Sept. 16.
