Danvers 5-Month Gas Main Replacement Project To Begin Thursday

National Grid will be replacing or relocating the main in the area of the Locust Street neighborhood six days per week.

DANVERS, MA — A five-month gas main replacement project is set to start in the area of the Locust Street neighborhood in Danvers on Thursday.

National Grid is set to begin the work that will replace and relocate portions of the gas main.

Work will generally take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays with roads affected including Locust Street from Neal Road to Coolidge Road, Neal Road from Locust Street to Worthington Avenue and Day Avenue from Washington Avenue.

Residents in the area may experience temporary power loss, while drivers through the area are likely to see delays, detours, noise and dust. National Grid and Danvers police will work to help minimize disruption during working hours.
