Danvers Boys Soccer Leaves Peabody Fit to be Tye-d
Falcons' senior Ethan Tye scores two goals, assists on four others in 6-0 romp past Tanners.

Sparked by the play of senior midfielder Ethan Tye, the Danvers High boys soccer team made a statement Monday with a 6-0 pounding of perennial power Peabody, 6-0, on the Tanners’ home pitch. The Falcons are now first in the NEC North with a 4-0 slate (5-2 overall).
Tye contributed to every goal, scoring his first two varsity goals on direct kicks and assisting on the other four. Junior captain Eric Martin converted three goals off corner kick crosses from Tye and senior Jon Amico had the other goal, also from a feed off a Tye corner kick.
“This was a breakout performance from Ethan. Regardless of the goals and assists, Ethan played the best game of his career. [He] dominated play as a central midfielder. His willingness and ability to transition play on the ground, win 50/50 balls, and develop offensive opportunities were crucial to our success,” said Coach Mike Chase.
