Danvers Brush Fire Closes Route 95 North Exit Ramp, Lane At Route 1

DANVERS, MA — High winds and summer heat made for a disruptive combination for the North Shore afternoon commute when a brush fire closed a Danvers exit ramp Tuesday afternoon.

The state Department of Transportation said the Route 1 North exit ramp and right lane on Route 95 North in Danvers were closed at about 4:30 p.m.

Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes back to the North Shore for the evening commute.\

The state DOT that the brush fire was extinguished by about 6 p.m. and the scene was cleared.
