Danvers' Callahan Glad She Wasn't 1 Minute More
Kerri Callahan was one of 13 Danvers residents to run the Boston Marathon on Monday. She finished the race a minute before the first bomb exploded.

Kerri Callahan was running her fifth Boston Marathon Monday for her four-year-old son, who has neurofibromatosis.
She crossed the finish line in 4:01:12. If she was 1 minute slower, she would have been in the thick of the first bomb blast that ripped apart an otherwise joyous scene.
Callahan, 35, and a Danvers mother of four, told the Salem News she was actually a minute off her goal but still finished in the thick of other marathoners supporting charities.

A bomb exploded a minute later and she was running again, trying to find her family. Fortunately, her husband and children were all right, and they made their way home.
She told the Salem News her son, Timothy, didn't see what happened, but saw all the ambulances and asked questions.
