Danvers Completes Tax Assessment On Residential, Commercial Properties

The "full and fair market value" of each property will be reflected in the tax rate set by the Select Board.

DANVERS, MA — A residential and commercial tax assessment on all properties in Danvers could mean a significant change in tax bills starting next year.

The town said that the Fiscal 2024 assessed values on all properties in the were "adjusted to full and fair market value" as of Jan. 1 and those values have received preliminary certification from the Department of Public Revenue.

Residential property values have risen significantly in many cities and towns in recent years.

The values can be found through the Danvers Assessing Department here.

These values will become final upon certification from the DOR.

The public disclosure period runs through Oct. 6 during regular business hours on Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. Residents can also call the Assessor's office at 978-777-0001 Ext. 3055.

Taxpayers are encouraged to review their proposed assessments prior to final certification.

Once final certification is received from the DOR, the Select Board will hold the annual Tax Classification Hearing, tentatively scheduled for Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.

The Board will then set the tax rate for next year.
