Danvers Contested School Committee Race Set For 2026 Annual Election
Three candidates are vying for two open seats in this year's election.
DANVERS, MA — Three candidates will vie for two open seats on the Danvers School Committee as a key contested race in the upcoming annual town election.
Joshua Kepnes is running for re-election, with Beth Kontos and Edward Schrage challenging for seats.
Eric Crane, the senior member of the current School Committee, is not running for re-election.

The other contested race in this year's election is for Library Trustee, with four candidates for three positions. Incumbents Cory Ryan and Charles Desmond are running for re-election with Kathryn Carbone and Ellen Graham also challenging for a seat.
The School Committee and Library Board of Trustees race mark the only contested races on the townwide ballot.

Select Board Chair Maureen Bernard is running uncontested for re-election, as is Moderator Patricia Frazier.
Danvers voters will also elect town meeting members on a precinct-by-precinct basis.
The annual town election will be held on May 5.
