DANVERS, MA — A drug bust in Danvers Thursday resulted in the arrest of four men and the police seizing 200 pounds of marijuana, THC-infused edible candies, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and tens of thousands of dollars, officials said.

Police arrested Gary Cioffi Jr. of Peabody, 34; Taylor Arellano of Lynn, 23; Donald Spongberg of Saugus, 26; and Thomas Iannello of Saugus, 29.

All face multiple drug related charges, police said in a statement and are scheduled to be arraigned Friday at the Salem District Court.

Police also seized thousands of THC honey butane cartridges and various types of cannabis oils and cannabis-related products during the afternoon drug bust.

“These edibles are intentionally designed to look like candy and could easily be mistaken by a young child,” said Police Chief Patrick Ambrose in a statement. “Their removal from the street eliminates the possibility of accidental ingestion by children, as well as, the intentional abuse from teens in our community.”
