Danvers Electric Commercial Rates To Jump Starting In April
Danvers Electric said rates for medium and large commercial customers will rise between 4 and 6 percent.
DANVERS, MA — Medium and large commercial Danvers Electric customers will see between a 4 and 6 percent increase in their bills, starting in April, after the Municipal Light Board approved the "demand charge" increase at its last meeting.
The Municipal Light Board said the adjustment is based on findings from the most recent Cost of Service Study, which determined that "demand-related rates were not fully recovering the infrastructure costs required to serve these customers. "
The demand rate has not been updated in more than 20 years. The next rates were effective as of April 1.
