Danvers Family Holds Holiday Party To Honor Lost Son

The Lamars are holding a Star Wars Christmas Party on Saturday to raise money for Griffin's Gift.

DANVERS, MA – The Star Wars-themed Christmas party a local family is putting on at the Danversport Yacht Club on Saturday to raise money for Griffin's Gift is sold out.

The party will fundraise for families trying to adopt a child. Griffin's Gift was formed in honor of Griffin Nathan Lamar, who died tragically this August in the arms of his adopted parents.

The organization seeks to curb the financial burden of the adoption process for hopeful parents. The process can cost tens of thousands of dollars, which discourages potential parents from going forward with adoption. Griffin's Gift is still in the fundraising stage.

The party will feature Lucasfilm and Disney official Star Wars characters and an interactive show. Guests can learn Jedi moves and mingle with characters. There will be cookie making, raffles, silent and live auctions, and a visit from Santa.
