Danvers Girls’ Tennis Sweeps Salem Neighbors

Danvers took all five matches on Friday and saw a clean performance by Becca Sands — 6-0, 6-0 sweep.

It was a cold day on the courts at Danvers High Friday as the girls’ tennis club opened its season, but that didn’t stop the Lady Falcons from commanding the home court advantage.

The Danvers girls swept Salem, 5-0, with strong performances from Rachel Ziner (6-0, 6-2), Becca Sands (6-0, 6-0) and Paige Clarizia (6-3, 6-0) in singles and Mary Kate Grace-Kristen Kulakowski (6-1, 6-0) and Rebecca Hayden-Danielle Comb (6-2, 6-1) in doubles.

The girls play travel to Peabody April 13 (4 p.m.) to play the Tanners.
