Danvers High Boys Nip Marblehead For Division 2 State XC Championship
The Falcons placed four runners in the top 22 to help secure the title at Devens this weekend.

DANVERS, MA — The Danvers High boys cross country team had four runners place in the top 22 — and five in the top 69 — as the Falcons outpaced Ludlow and Marblehead for the Division 2 state championship at Devens on Saturday.
Senior Sean Moore led the Falcons with a fourth-place finish overall at 16 minutes, 10.9 seconds on the 5-kilometer course, with junior Jonathan Rooney 10th in 16:24.51, junior William Conklin 12th in 16:32.07, junior Charles Garlin 22nd in 16:54.07, senior William Dumont 69th in 17:45.96 and Cooper Guttadauro 134th in 18:36.37.
Danvers won the meet with 92 points, with Ludlow second with a 105 score and Marblehead third at 146.

Marblehead senior Isaac Gross was second in 16:04.3, junior Nate Assa was sixth in 16:13.12, junior Will Cerrutti was eighth in 16:21.66, sophomore Henrik Adams was 73rd in 17:48.95, junior Jonah Potach was 148th in 18:49.78 and senior Ryan Blestowe was 156th in 18:59.81.
Sophomore Marri O'Connell was second overall for Marblehead in the girls race in 18:43.89 as she helped lead the Magicians to an 18th-place finish as a team.

Senior Cat Piper was 87th in 22:01.33 and junior Maren Potter was 91st in 22:04.49 for the Marblehead girls.
Freshman Grace Conklin was 110th representing the Danvers girls in 22:33.66.
