Residents are advised that water discoloration or sediment may occur after flushing and water use should be limited during this period. Once the flushing is complete, if water is not clear, run cold water in the tub or sink in the highest point in the home for 15 minutes until the water clears up.

If it does not improve, wait 30 minutes and try again.

Homes that run water through a fixture that is serviced by an in-home filter may become clogged during flushing and require cleaning or replacement.

Discolored water may cause staining of clothes in a washing machine or plumbing fixtures. The town will provide free rust removal products upon request.

Residents can contact the Water Division at 978-762-0235 with any questions or concerns.
