Danvers' Jay Ash Withdraws Cambridge City Manager Candidacy

The state's housing and economic development secretary said the opening was not the right fit.

DANVERS, MA — The state's housing and economic development secretary and Danvers resident Jay Ash has withdrawn his name for consideration for the city manager opening in Cambridge.

Ash told the State House News Service that the position is not the right fit for him. Had he been selected for the job, he would have been the first secretary to leave the Baker Administration.

The other two finalists are Cambridge Assistant City Manager Louis DePasquale and Ashville, N.C. Assistant City Manager Paul Fetherston. The Cambridge City Council is expected to choose their next city manager Thursday night.
