Danvers Latinx Heritage Celebration Set For Saturday
The event will celebrate the achievements and contributions of Latinx, Hispanic and Caribbean people to the town.
DANVERS, MA — Danvers will host a daylong celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month on Saturday at the Peabody Institute Library.
The event will salute the achievements and contributions of Latinx, Hispanic and Caribbean people to the town. Hispanic hHritage Month is in recognition of the several Central and South American countries that celebrate their independence during the month.
Brazil's Independence Day is Sept. 7, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua are Sept. 15, Mexico is Sept. 16, Chile is Sept. 18 and Belize is Sept. 21.

Saturday's event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is set to include face painting, flag making, identity activities, food from La Frontera Sabrosa and Tipico Express, and entertainment from Ole Flamenco and Grupo Fantasia.
