Danvers Man Killed In Newbury Route 1 Motorcycle Collision
The Essex County District Attorney's Office said a Boxford man was charged with OUI and leaving the scene of an accident causing death.
DANVERS, MA — A Danvers man was killed and a Boxford man is facing charges related to operating under the influence and leaving the scene of a fatal crash after two motorcycles collided on Route 1 in Newbury Thursday night.
The Essex County District Attorney's Office said James Turcotte, 63, of Danvers was pronounced dead at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport Thursday night. The DA's Office said Scott Dambrosio, 55, of Boxford was charged in the fatal crash.
Dambrosio was arraigned on Friday in Haverhill District Court, where he pleaded not guilty to operating under the influence of liquor. He was held on $5,000 bail, as well as an outstanding warrant from the Newbury Police Department.

He was expected to be arraigned Monday in Newburyport District Court on the negligent operation and leaving the scene charges.
Newbury police said the crash happened at about 7:45 p.m. on Route 1 South south of 96 Newburyport Turnpike.
