Danvers Man Pleads Guilty In Assault Of Mother, Family Dog

DANVERS, MA -- A Danvers man pleaded guilty Tuesday to repeatedly assaulting his mother and attempting to strangle the family's dog. Keith Rodes, 23, of 4 Bartlett Road in Danvers, was senetenced to serve 90 days of an 18-month sentence, undergo a mental health evaluation and attend anger management.

According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, Rodes will soon be eligible for parole as he has been held since his Nov. 18 arrest. Rodes mother went to police after repeated assaults and showed them bruises. When they went back to the house and found Rodes playing a video game, he asked "Is this about me hitting her?"
