Danvers Man Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charge

Donald LeBlanc, 29, pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography and was sentenced to two and a half years in half.

DANVERS, MA — A Danvers man will serve time in jail after admitting to having thousands of child pornography files on his computer.

Donald LeBlanc, 29, pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography and was sentenced to two and a half years in jail, with 15 months to be served and the balance suspended for two years, according to the Salem News. LeBlanc has been in jail for 83 days and was unable to post $20,000 bail. He will be on probation for two years following is release, must wear a GPS device, seek sex offender treatment, and register as a sex offender.

Police in Danvers became aware of LeBlanc after discovering a person who was offering files to download on a file sharing service. A child pornography file was downloaded by an officer on May 6 and LeBlanc was identified as the person who offered the file.

Police obtained a search warrant that was executed on June 28.

LeBlanc admitted to having thousands of files, with a forensic examination determining that the number was over 5,000.

The computer's hard drive will be destroyed and LeBlanc agreed to not obtain any new images.
