Danvers Massage Envy Spas raise money to help find a cure for arthritis

September 17th "Healing Hands" Event Continues Effort to Help Find a Cure for Arthritis

Massage Envy Spa Danvers, a locally-owned spa that is part of the leading company for therapeutic massage in the United States, recently supported runner Brandon Benoit in the 2014 New Balance Falmouth Road Race to raise money and awareness for arthritis. Brandon is a lead therapist at Massage Envy Spas in New England, and he ran with the Arthritis Foundation, New England Region’s Joints in Motion team at the race on Sunday, August 17.

“Many of the clients I treat suffer from arthritis, so I understand how debilitating it can be,” said Benoit. “When I learned that Massage Envy Spa is a national sponsor for the Arthritis Foundation, I wanted to become involved. I love to run and I’m thrilled to use another one of my passions to help raise money and awareness for such a worthy cause.”

Brandon became a lead therapist with Massage Envy in 2013. As a massage therapist, he treats many clients who suffer from arthritis pain. Brandon hopes to continue helping people manage their pain and will be applying to the University of New Hampshire to pursue a career in physical therapy.

“We are extremely proud of Brandon for participating in the Falmouth Road Race to raise awareness and funds for the Arthritis Foundation,” said Elise Pashigian, Owner and Franchisee Liaison. “We hope that his dedication inspires others to participate or donate to help find a cure.”

Massage Envy Spa also supports the Arthritis Foundation by hosting its annual Healing Hands for Arthritis event, a one-day, in-clinic nationwide event. For every one-hour massage or facial session performed during the event, Massage Envy Spa makes a $10 donation to the Arthritis Foundation. This year’s annual Healing Hands for Arthritis event will take place on Wednesday, September 17 at Massage Envy Spas nationwide, including the Danvers location at 100 Independence Way.
