Danvers Mobil Liquor License Hearing Tabled Amid Absent Owner
The board will revisit the issue at their next meeting.

DANVERS, MA — An absent owner meant that the Danvers Mobil will have to wait longer to find out if there will be consequences for a recently failed liquor license compliance check.
During a recent selectmen's meeting, the board held a hearing for the alleged violation, which took place on June 17. According to Police Chief Patrick Ambrose, two officers and an underage conducted a compliance check at the gas station on Newbury Street . The operative was able to buy beer from the store, with the clerk telling the officers that he thought the operative was a customer who came in last week and he checked her ID then.
A representative from the gas station apologized for the sale and said the clerk and manager have been fired.

The manager of record and owner was not able to attend the hearing due to a family emergency, with the selectmen tabling the hearing until their next meeting after learning that the manager of record owns multiple businesses, leading to questions about how many hours he spends on site in Danvers.
