Danvers Plans 3rd Annual Earth Day Townwide Cleanup Event

Officials are hoping to top last year's count of 200 sites cleaned and 2,000 pounds of litter collected.

DANVERS, MA — The Danvers Department of Public Works will be looking to top last year's 200 sites cleaned across town and 2,000 pounds of litter collected when it hosts the Third Town Wide Clean Up Day this coming Earth Day.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on April 20 with all town groups and organizations encouraged to put together teams of those looking to help spruce up Danvers for spring.

The goal of the event is to beautify the town, promote proper disposal practices and combat the effects littering has on the environment.
