Danvers Police Arrest Marblehead Woman For Drugged Driving
Ruth Merk, 51, was already on probation for drunk driving and now faces up to six months in jail.

DANVERS, MA -- A Marblehead woman is facing up to six months in jail after Danvers Police arrested her for drugged driving, third offense, on Route 11 Tuesday night. Ruth Merk, 51, was already on probation for a 2016 conviction for OUI-liquor.
Merk pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to the Salem News, which first reported this story. Her attorney said Merk may have been suffering from the side effects of a prescription medication when she was stopped by police and failed field sobriety tests.
