Danvers Police Firearms Fingerprint Machine On The Fritz

New license appointments are delayed until next month with a replacement machine expected next week.

DANVERS, MA — Those seeking a firearms license in Danvers will have to wait until at least sometime next month to get the fingerprints necessary for the permit.

Danvers police said on Tuesday that their fingerprint machine is broken and they cannot process any new applications, or renewal applications that were initially issued by another department, at this time.

The new machine is expected in next week, but the department wants to make sure everything is a full go before scheduling appointments. Police said they anticipate the new appointments for October will be added to the department's website booking platform next week.
