Danvers Preps Welcome Home Rally For Olympic Gold Medalist
Danvers will celebrate "Meghan Duggan Day" on April 7, starting with a rolling rally through Danvers Square at 10 am.

DANVERS, MA -- The town's recreation department is finalizing details for Meghan Duggan Day to honor the Danvers-raised member of the gold medal-winning, U.S. Olympic Women's Hockey Team. The event will begin with a rolling rally at 10 am through Danvers Square on April 7. A second rally at the Danvers High School field house is expected to begin at 10:20 am on the same morning.
Duggan will be available for photos and autographs after the events. Out-of-town guests are being asked to attend the rally in the square because of the anticipated crowd at the field house.
Duggan played forward for the team that captured the U.S.'s second gold medal in women's hockey. She notched two assists in five games. Duggan grew up in Danvers and attended Cushing Academy before going to college at the University of Wisconsin.
