Danvers Selectmen To Weigh Fate Of Dog That Attacked Another Dog

Neeka, a seven-year-old pit bull, attacked a goldendoodle named Henry on July 12.

DANVERS, MA -- Danvers Selectmen have scheduled a public hearing to sort out a dispute between neighboring dog owners that live on Burley Farm Road. In a letter to Public Health Director Peter Mirandi, LouAnn Strangie said her goldendoodle Henry required surgery after being attacked by Neeka, a seven-year-old pit bull owned by Trung and Sabrina Nguyen. The Nguyens claim Henry had gotten loose and was unleashed when the attack happened.

"If this was such a vicious dog, her dog would not be alive today," Sabrina Nguyen told the Salem News, which first reported this story. "This isn't a great situation. It doesn't feel good." A hearing date has yet to be set. Selectmen plan to appoint Danvers Police Chief Patrick Ambrose when they meet on Tuesday.
