Danvers To 'Stock The Shelves' At Townwide Donation Event
Non-perishable donations to the Danvers Food Pantry will be accepted at all recreation programs on Aug. 9.

DANVERS, MA — A townwide food and necessity collection event designed to "Stock the Shelves" of the Danvers Food Pantry is set for Aug. 9.
Non-perishable items will be collected at all recreation programs during operating hours that day.
All program participants are asked to bring at least one item with Danvers residents are encouraged to donate as well.

Items that are needed the most are brand-name cereals, toilet paper or paper towels, graham crackers, wheat thins and children's snacks. Not all perishable items can be accepted.
Danvers Recreation will randomly select 20 program participants from the donation day to receive a $25 gift certificate that can be used for a future Danvers Recreation program.

Park locations are Highlands, Tapley, Lawrence, Plains, Putnam, Folley Hill, Smith and Great Oak.
A rain date of Aug. 11 will be held if the Aug. 9 programs are canceled because of bad weather.
