Danvers Teacher Salaries Above State Average

Data from the state says educators in Danvers are making more than the average Massachusetts teacher.

DANVERS, MA — Public school teachers in Danvers on average are paid above the average for Massachusetts educators, according to data from the state.

According to figures from the Department of Early and Secondary Education, the average salary of the 269 full time positions in the Danvers Public Schools during the 2014-15 school year was $78,183, nearly $3,500 more than the state average of $74,703.

317 school districts reported data to the state. Benefits such as summers off and pensions, negotiated between individual school districts and unions, were not included in the data.

Average wages were determined by dividing each district's total salaries and stipends by the number of full-time teachers employed in 2015.
