Danvers Town Manager Elected To International Civic Management Board
Steve Bartha will represent the town as a Northeast Regional Vice President of ICMA.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers Town Manager Steve Bartha will represent the town as the vice president of an international municipal management association after being elected to a three-year term at the recent International City/County Management Association conference in Austin.
ICMA's mission is to advance professional local government management worldwide through
leadership, management, innovation, and ethics. The organization's 13,000 members from 34
countries include appointed chief administrative officers (city, town, and county managers), assistant and deputy administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world.
"Being elected by my peers to serve in this role is an honor and a responsibility that I will cherish
during my three-year term and beyond," Bartha said. "I am proud to represent Danvers, Massachusetts, and the Northeast region, and beyond excited for this opportunity to give back to a profession and professional association that has given so much to me, my family, and my colleagues around the world."

As one of 18 vice presidents, three of whom are elected from the organization's Northeast
Region, Bartha will represent ICMA to state associations of local government management
and maintain relationships among other affiliated organizations. The Northeast Region is one of five ICMA regions in the United States. Three vice presidents are also elected from countries outside the U.S.
"I was on the Select Board when Steve was hired in 2014 and have had the privilege of watching him grow as a leader in our community, in our state, and now as a board member for ICMA," said Danvers Select Board Chair David Mills said. "We are pleased to support his service to the profession and know he will work tirelessly to defend and advance ICMA's core values of ethical leadership, accountability, transparency, respect, collaboration, equity, and inclusion."

Bartha was hired as Danvers town manager in 2014. He has been a member of ICMA since 2007.
He serves on the MMA Board of Directors and on the MIIA Health Trust Board. He received his Master's of Public Administration and a graduate certificate in public financial management from the University of Connecticut.
