Danvers Veterans Day Ceremony Moved To High School Auditorium

This year's event will include retired U.S. Army Paratrooper Timothy C. Smith, a musical performance and a Danvers Alarm Company gun salute.

DANVERS, MA — The annual Danvers Veterans Day ceremony, featuring music from the Danvers High School Chambers Singers, Girl Scouts and Danvers High Marching Band, will move to the high school this year with retired U.S. Army Paratrooper Timothy C. Smith as this year's guest speaker.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 in the high school auditorium.

Smith served for 18 years and is also a past commander of the VFW and is active in the American Legion.

Church of the Nazarene Pastor Elisha Cho will provide the invocation, followed by music from the Danvers High Chambers Singers and the Girl Scouts. The Danvers High Marching Band will perform an armed services medley and a drum roll and Danvers Fire Capt. Kenneth Reardon Jr. will play a selection on the bagpipes.

The Danvers Alarm Company will end the event with a gun salute.

The public is invited to attend the service as well as participate in the placing of small American flags in a wreath to honor the town's fallen veterans.
