Developers Want To Change Train Station Into B And B

The plan would involve moving the last of nine train stations that once served Danvers.

DANVERS, MA -- Michael Becker and Charrissa Vitas, whose transforming historic structures on the North Shore has landed them spots on HGTV, are eyeing a historic train station in Danvers for their next project. The duo are in the permitting process to convert the East Plains station on Cherry Street into a bed and breakfast. The station is the last of nine that once served Danvers.

According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, the developers would move the structure to the Glen Magna Farms estate. "We’re still trying to work out the details on whether it is feasible to move the building over there," Danvers Historical Society Vice President Dave McKenna told the newspaper.
