Emergency Grant to Pay for Derby Summer House Repairs
The Danvers Historical Society will receive $50,000 to go towards repairs.

DANVERS, MA —The Derby Summer House in Danvers will be renovated thanks to an emergency grant from the Massachusetts Historical Society.
Secretary of State William Galvin, who chairs the state's historical society presented a check for $50,000 to the Danvers Historical Society and local officials. The money will be used to save the 222-year-old structure, according to the Salem News.
Last year, the building was heavily damaged as a result of a squirrel infestation that caused water to enter the building and led to rotting.
