The fun family event will start at 9:00 a.m., and young anglers will line the perimeter of the picturesque Mill Pond in Danvers and cast their lines in the morning air. Hoots and hollers can be heard as kids and their parents make a catch!
The rules of the derby require children to throw back their catch immediately — mainly perch, catfish and pickerel. The organizers also encouraged anglers to trade in their old, lead sinkers for lead-free ones!
The winners of the derby (1st & 2nd Place Family and 1st & 2nd Place Individual) will be awarded trophy’s and of course bragging rights!
