Restorative Yoga Workshop

90 minutes of relaxation & bliss. With deep hands on adjustments, support from props*, essential oils, candlelight and soothing music, it’s a perfect way to restart your week! 

Why restorative?
Most of us are sitting at our desks or in our cars or standing in lines for the greater part of the day and our bodies bear the result. We become tense and tight, and joint pain can follow. We also tend to hold mental and emotional stress in the joints, which increases stiffness.

Restorative Yoga focuses on relaxing the body in restful postures. Rest provides the body an opportunity to renew and heal by triggering the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). Stimulating the PNS helps to lower heart rate, blood pressure, healthily stimulate the immune system and keep the endocrine system operating healthily. In a nutshell, bringing your body into balance through rest and relaxation.

What to expect:
In this special Sunday workshop we will start with an opening meditation and move into a brief and gentle flow to heat the muscles and joints. Then we will go slowly, gradually and deeply into the major weight bearing joints using props to fully support the body while resting on and supported by your mat. We hope to provide you the opportunity to experience spaciousness, freedom and peace in the body and mind!

*Bring your own heavy wool or cotton blanket for comfort, warmth and support
