Explosion Caused Power Outage In Danvers
Police said the power outage only lasted about an hour last night.

DANVERS, MA — Around 7:30 p.m. Monday night there was an explosion in the Electric Light area and Collins Street in Danvers went dark. But Collins Street wasn't the only one where the lights went out. According to police the power outage was quite large, and impacted Maple Street, including traffic lights along Route 62.
Within the hour the power was reportedly back on, police said.
We are aware of a widespread power outage affecting the Maple St area, including the Kirkbride Dr and Conifer Hill apartment complexes, as well as traffic lights along Route 62. Please use extra caution if driving in the area! Electric Light is working to fix the problem.
