Extraordinarily thrilling music to be featured at Christ the Redeemer choral concert
CHORAL EVENSONG, Sunday, September 28, 5:00 PM at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, Route 62, Danvers.

CHORAL EVENSONG, Sunday, September 28, 5:00 PM, in the Church with incense. Choral Evensong, possibly the most distinctive Anglican service, is noted for its extraordinarily thrilling music. Developed by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer in the mid 1500s, this classic service is based on the ancient monastic practices of awaiting God’s presence, hearing him speak through his word, and offering intercessory prayer. The Officiant and choir chant or sing the prayers and canticles.
The Choir of Christ the Redeemer will sing for the Feast of St. Michael & All Angels, including works by Malcolm Archer, Richard Ayleward, Jacob Handl, and William H. Harris. The congregation will sing hymns; Fr. James will officiate; Fr. Malcolm will preach a brief homily. Pray to God by candlelight and with glorious music. Reception follows in Parish Hall.
Christ the Redeemer is located at 188 Elliott Street (Route 62) in Danvers. (Directions: From Rt. 128, take exit 22E onto Rt. 62 towards Beverly. Christ the Redeemer is almost one mile down on the left, after the Danversport Yacht Club and on the opposite side of the street.)
