Fire At Under-Construction House Quickly Contained In Danvers
Route 62 was closed briefly during rush hours as crews worked to put out the fire.
DANVERS, MA -- Crews from Danvers, Beverly, Peabody and Salem responded to a two-alarm fire at a home that is under construction on Route 62 in Danvers Monday night. According to fire department radio transmissions, the fire at 71 Poplar Street was under control within minutes of fire fighters arriving.
The second alarm was sounded when the first crews arrived on scene. There were reports of flames shooting out of second-story windows. Route 62 was closed briefly as fire crews responded to the fire, which was reported around 6:20 pm.
