Fishing For A Trophy: Annual Mike Gordon Fishing Derby [VIDEO]

Dozens of families came out to participate in the annual  on Sunday June 25 at . Families have been attending this event for over 20 years, in memory of founder Mike Gordon. The event was re-named to honor him following his passing.  

Mostly sunfish inhabit the pond, but there are also bass, perch, catfish and pickerel. Although the fish were somewhat "bass-ful" for many folks, the weather held off and there was plenty of fun to go around. The festive atmosphere was punctuated by the occasional cheering from excited anglers hauling in their catch. The rules of the derby required children to throw back their catch immediately.

Trophies were handed out at the close of the event, with one first place individual win, and first, second and third place family wins:
