Heart Pump Maker Opens Innovation Center In Danvers

Abiomed cut the ribbon on a $17 million, 29,800 square foot center on Friday.

DANVERS, MA -- The maker of the world's smallest heart pump cut the ribbon on its expanded, Danvers headquarters on Friday. Abiomed unveiled its $17 million, 29,800 square foot Innovation Center, where the company plans to its research and engineering capabilities.

The center will house the company's engineering team and has five new labs. It's the second Danvers expansion in as many years for Abiomed, which opened a new manufacturing and training facility in March 2017.
