Hot Dog Eating Contest Comes Back To Topsfield Fair

The 204th Topsfield Fair will include a hot dog eating contest for the fourth time in the Fair's history.

TOPSFIELD, MA — Contestants will once again have a chance to prove they are the North Shore's top dog when it comes to devouring hot dogs at this year's Topsfield Fair.

For the fourth time in Fair history, the Topsfield Fair Hot Dog Eating Contest will be on Oct. 1 — the first Saturday of the Fair — at 3 p.m. on the Trianon Stage.

Contestants age 16 or older will have seven minutes to scoff down as many 1/4-pound Hebrew National Hot Dogs — including buns — as they can. The first 15 people to register beginning at 2:30 p.m. will be entered into the contest sponsored by the B'nai B'rith Booth.

There is no cost to participate with the required waiver forms available here.

Contestants will begin with six hot dogs and buns each with more brought to each contestant upon the completion of the last dog. Contestants will begin with two glasses of water each with additional glasses brought as needed.

The winner will receive $204 from the B'nai B'rith Booth at the Topsfield Fair.

Ticket prices for the 2022 Topsfield Fair are $20 for each day with discount advance admission available here through Sept. 29. Tickets include admission to all events (carnival rides are additional).

The Fair runs from Sept. 30 through Oct. 10.
