Ice Warning: Danvers Town Offices To Close Early Thursday
All non-essential town offices will close early on Thursday afternoon out of flash freeze and icy road concerns.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers town offices were to close early on Thursday because of ice concerns.
The town will close all non-essential offices — not including public safety and public works — at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
"The (National Weather Service) anticipates slippery road conditions as the temperature drops this evening," town officials said. "If you are out, please use caution."

Up to 2/10 of an inch of ice may accumulate on top of snow that's been falling since Thursday night, according to the weather service.
"Cold air over VT & NH drains southward today, temps fall below freezing in northern portions of MA, CT & RI. This will result in a flash freeze, with any standing water or slush, freezing later this morning into the afternoon & evening. Icy spots will develop," the National Weather Service said in a tweet Thursday morning.

Danvers received about 4 inches of snow overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning, with some areas of the North Shore and Merrimack Valley among the snowiest in the state at 6 inches. Up to an inch of additional snow is forecast, along with the ice, Thursday night into Friday.
