JAKE AKOURY OF THE BULFINCH GROUP NAMED ADJUNCT PROFESSOR AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY'S CENTER FOR PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
The Bulfinch Group's Director of Training, John "Jake" Akoury of Danvers, MA was recently named Adjunct Professor at Boston University.
John “Jake” Akoury, CFP®, of Danvers, MA, Director of Training at The Bulfinch Group, has been named an Adjunct Professor at Boston University’s Center for Professional Education. Mr. Akoury will teach a ten week course entitled FP102: Risk Management, which will start September 9th. The course is part of the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificate program offered at the University.
“FP 102: Risk Management will provide students with an understanding of the risk management process and the techniques available to minimize exposures to risk. Students will learn how to conduct a protection analysis for different types of risks and evaluate and compare insurance contracts and policy features,” explains Jake. “This course covers various tax and non-tax aspects of insurance, including life, disability, long-term care, and medical insurance; and explains how rates are developed, the types of contracts that are available, how to read insurance proposals, and how life insurance is used in financial planning. Students also learn about property and casualty insurance, including homeowner’s, liability, and auto insurance. Other topics include group life, disability and health insurance plans.”
