Jayne Furlong Joins Mortgage Network

Mortgage Network, Inc., one of the largest independent mortgage lenders in the eastern U.S., announced Jayne Furlong has joined the company as a sales manager at its Danvers, Massachusetts office. An industry veteran with over 35 years of financial services experience, Furlong will help borrowers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Florida with their home financing needs, as she is licensed in all four states.

Previously, Furlong (NMLS #3552) was a senior vice president of mortgage lending and a branch manager for Guaranteed Rate, the president and owner of Majestic Mortgage Corporation, and an operations and sales manager for Atlantic Home Loans.

With low inventory in almost every housing market, Furlong urges homebuyers to get pre-approved as soon as possible and to avoid bidding wars when submitting offers.

“Getting pre-approved should be your first priority if you’d like to put yourself in a great position to get the home you want,” she said. “Start by saving as much money as possible for a down payment, make sure to keep current on any credit expenses, and refrain from opening any new lines of credit.”

“When it comes to making an offer on a home, do not get caught up in the moment of a bidding war,” she added. “It’s not about what you qualify for, but rather what you can comfortably afford without being financially strapped.”

In addition to her current duties, Furlong has been tapped to lead Mortgage Network’s soon-to-be-opened branch office in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Furlong was the first person in Rhode Island to earn RIMBA’s Certified Mortgage Professional (CMP) designation. She is also a Certified Military Housing Specialist with USA Cares, a non-profit provider of financial assistance and job training for military veterans, and a NAMB Certified Veteran Lending Specialist.
