This additional period of closure will allow for the project to be completed weeks ahead of schedule and prior to the Riverside School opening.

During that time, the contractor is scheduled to complete the following items prior to final paving:

  • Guardrail and fencing installation along the causeway

Liberty Street, Jersey Lane and the Route 35 intersection will reopen upon completion of this work. If weather delays the scheduled work, the reopening of the entire road would be expected to occur during the weekend of August 27.

MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes when possible to avoid delays. Drivers that must travel through the affected areas should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution while traveling through the work zones and along the detour routes.

The work is being completed as part of an $8 million reconstruction project designed by the Town of Danvers and constructed by MassDOT.
