Long-Serving Town Manager Announces His Retirement
Town Manager Wayne Marquis has been Danvers town manager for 35 years.
Town Manager Wayne Marquis, who has led Danvers for more than three decades, announced on Tuesday that he plans to retire in the fall.
The Salem News reported that Marquis gave the Board of Selectmen his retirement letter and spoke emotionally about his time leading the town of Danvers. See a copy of the retirement letter that Salem News reporter Ethan Forman posted on Twitter.
Marquis has worked nearly his entire adult life in Danvers as assistant town manager and town manager.
